UK COSMOS Survey open to all!
As of today, 14 February 2012, any UK resident aged 18 or over who uses a mobile phone can participate in the UK COSMOS study. If you meet this criteria and wish to take part, please either click the "Join Now" link on the main page or head directly to the online questionnaire website.
We have also made some minor upgrades to our website and databases, hopefully making the UK Cosmos experience more streamlined and straightforward - any feedback is welcome.

SMS Prepilot Closed
As of today, 08 August 2011, registration for the COSMOS SMS Prepilot has closed. If you received a text message or email invitation and still wish to take part please contact us for further information about how you may be able to participate in the future. Thanks to all those who signed up to the Cosmos study during the recent SMS Prepilot.

SMS Prepilot Launched!
Today, 12 July 2011, marks the launch of the COSMOS SMS Prepilot! We are trialling the use of text messages as a method of contacting participants for the study. If you have received a text message invitation and wish to take part please go to https://www.ukcosmossurvey.org to log in, register and complete the survey.

First COSMOS publication
The first COSMOS publication, which describes the design and set up of the international COSMOS cohort, was published recently in the scientific journal Cancer Epidemiology. Click here for a link to the publication abstract to read a brief summary of this publication.

New 'Participant Section'
As part of the recent upgrades to the COSMOS website we are pleased to announce the launch of the new COSMOS Participant Section. Current COSMOS participants are now able to log in securely to their Participant Records and update their contact details and mobile phone information as and when they need to. Over time we will be adding other resources to this area of the website to enable greater communication between the study team at Imperial College and COSMOS participants.

Survey Now Closed
The COSMOS online survey closed to the public on 1 September 2010. As such, no further input can be made on the survey by current or prospective participants at this time. Please be assured the study itself is still active, although the initial online survey phase has drawn to a close. The next stage of the study, which involves the collection of further data, is currently progressing well. To keep up to date with all UK Cosmos news please keep your eyes on this news page, and if you have any questions or queries do not hesitate to contact us.

Survey Closure
Please be aware that the COSMOS online survey will be closing on the 1 September 2010. We ask anyone who is yet to complete their questionnaire to complete it before this date. Please be assured we are not closing the study, this is a closure of the online questionnaire in order for us to commence the next stage of research for those people already registered. Prize Draw Now Closed
Please be advised that the UK Cosmos prize draw is now closed. The draw ran until 30 June 2010 and all those who are selected at random to win one of 100 £25 high street vouchers will be contacted by 16 July 2010. This does not mean the the survey is closed to new participants! If you are yet to register please be assured we are still actively recruiting people to take part in the study so please go to www.ukcosmossurvey.org to sign up.

Please be advised that the UK Cosmos call centre will now be manned between the hours of 10:00am and 5:30pm, Monday - Friday. Main Study Launch
After the successfull pre-test study, we are launching the main UK COSMOS study in April 2010. We will be inviting a total of 2.4 million UK mobile phone customers to take part.

Pre-test Study Completion
The pre-test study received a total of 232 participants, many thanks to all those who took part. We are now preparing for the main launch of the study, which will go live in early 2010.

Pre-test Update
The pre-test study successfully launched on the 28th May 2009. A selection of customers from the main UK mobile phone network operators were invited to participate, with over 100 participants signed up to date and registrations ongoing.
